BODY LANGUAGE

This event was dedicated to my best friend. I curated a lineup entirely made up of trans and queer DJs, creating a space centered on joy, visibility, and community. It was held during the weekend of Trans Day of Visibility and was free to attend, though donations were encouraged.

My goal was to create a safe and celebratory space where people could dance, have fun, and celebrate the trans community. All proceeds from donations and bar sales went directly to the DC LGBTQ+ Community Center.

The event was a success and a reflection of everything I value—my love for music, my commitment to community, and my passion for creating inclusive, affirming spaces for everyone. It meant a lot to me, and I’m proud of what we were able to build together.

LOVERS BPM

Lovers BPM was, so far, SoundFynd’s biggest event, and I had the opportunity to co-manage it. I led the marketing strategy, helped curate the artist lineup, and played a major role in the event’s creative direction. I conceptualized the central theme—vintage TVs—and built a full wall display of old televisions, which I programmed to visually sync with the music for a more immersive experience.

I also designed all event graphics and created a slideshow that introduced each artist to the audience. The goal was to humanize the experience—not just throw a party, but create a space where attendees could really connect with the DJs and their sounds. We wanted guests to leave not only entertained, but inspired to follow and support the artists.

The multi-floor event featured house music, Afrobeats, classic neo-soul, and EDM, with different genres playing on different levels at different times—so people could explore and enjoy a variety of sounds throughout the night. In total, we sold over 400 tickets.

After the event, many artists shared that it was one of their favorite performances and that they gained a significant number of new followers and supporters—which was exactly what we hoped to achieve.

This was another event I co-managed under SoundFind, where I led all marketing efforts and also served as the event photographer and coverage lead. It was a truly rewarding experience, especially because it took place at one of my favorite venues—one I grew up attending, where I saw artists like King Krule, Nick Hakim, and Paris Texas perform. Being able to help host my own event there was incredibly meaningful.

The show had an amazing turnout and spotlighted emerging alternative, indie, and rock artists. It was a powerful moment to contribute to a platform that uplifts new voices in genres that don’t always get the visibility they deserve.

It all begins with an idea. I’ve always wanted to see myself more in the scene that I am in. Phases Event. A curation of music, visuals, and art that personally move me. An experience to build a stronger and more diverse alternative community within the DMV.

PHASES

My first personal event. All artists were people of color. All elements were planned and curated by me.
